KILASRAKYAT.COM, SEMARANG – The 2023 Telomoyo VII Cup Gantolle (Hang Gliding) international aerospace sports championship, on 18-24 September on Mount Telomoyo, Getasan District, Semarang Regency, Central Java, attended by 58 pilots.
As an event that specifically competes in Limited Cross Country events (Race To Goal), 53 pilots from 9 provinces; Banten, DI Yogyakarta, DKI Jaya, West Java, Central Java, East Java, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantana and West Sumatra, made the Telomoyo Cup an opportunity to measure the strength of potential opponents at the XXI Aceh and North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON) 2024. Meanwhile participants from India (4 pilots) and one Hong Kong pilot, fulfilled their ambition to fly in Indonesia and travel in aerospace sports.
Apalagi terdapat seorang pilot remaja putri binaan Jawa Timur.
Even though they are still tired after taking part in the XXI PON Preliminary Round at the Gorda Indonesian Air Force Detachment Airfield, Serang, Banten, last September 7-13, plus a road trip to Telomoyo, several regions can't wait to “show off” the results of their development this year. West Java and East Java sent the most novice pilots, namely 6 people.
Meanwhile, DKI Jaya and Central Java, 1 person each. Indeed, beginners who are members of Sport Class C specifically take part in the Duration, Flight Endurance numbers.
They will not compete in the same number as their seniors, namely Race To Goal, Limited Cross Country. However, Duration is the main asset for those who will later take part in Limited Cross Country, where pilots are required to fly across several points in the fastest time. During the Telomoyo Cup, the average distance traveled by participants is around 70 km per round and will be in the air for around three hours.
In each round, the task points will be changed. All pilots are divided into three classes; Open Class (single-layer kite), Sport Class (two-layer kite) and Sport Class C (Beginner). While waiting for the participants to land, the people of Ambarawa, Salatiga and Semarang can enjoy the entertainment stage and UKM bazaar. In order to involve the younger generation who are active on social media, competitions are being held regarding the Telomoyo Cup, the Telomoyo area and UKM outlets at the bazaar.
Regarding the absence of the Telomoyo Cup regular pilots from Australia, Japan and South Korea, Telomoyo Cup Communications Director, Tagor Siagian explained, “They have just taken part in the World Championship in Macedonia so their physical condition has not yet recovered. But they always consider the Telomoyo Cup as a prestigious championship in Asia.
“Some Japanese trainers even used Telomoyo as a test for their young pilots to get a flying license.” However, Tagor regrets the policy of Gantolle's status of sports equipment as aircraft cargo, because the costs that must be borne by foreign pilots increase, plus plane tickets.
“This is burdensome for many foreign pilots, because not all of them are comfortable using rental kites from Indonesian pilots. Supposedly, if we want to advance this country's adventure sports and tourism, all relevant parties must cooperate with each other. “Because the direction of development of world sporting events such as the Olympics is adventure sports and arts and culture which are considered more challenging for young people and more interesting as a spectacle,” he explained.
Lomba sepeda gunung Down Hill sangat layak digelar di Telomoyo. Sedangkan Danau Rawapening bisa untuk olahraga air.”
Jika cita-cita Ersy akhirnya terwujud, menjadi bukti nyata rencana kerja Presiden Joko Widodo, yaitu menjadikan Indonesia sebagai surga wisata olahraga sangat memungkinkan.
In the midst of an epidemic of computer games and extracurricular activities being neglected in many schools, in order to produce a healthy generation of young people, they must be returned to nature. The potential land for natural sports stretches across this country, it just remains how we wisely develop and manage it.
We will undoubtedly produce skilled adventure sports athletes who are able to compete at world level and of course make the nation proud. Many teenagers around the world use adventure sports as a livelihood. Why can't Indonesian teenagers do it?
Until Round 3, Thursday (21/9), DKI Jaya pilot Syamsul Falah was still leading in the Open Class. In Round 2, Wednesday (20/9), he managed to overtake the score of Nasta'in (East Java), who was leading in Round 1, Tuesday (19/9).
Diperingkat kedua menempel ketat pilot Banten, Aji Enoh, dengan pilot tuanrumah Jawa Tengah, Susetiyoko di peringkat ketiga. Sedangkan peraih 3 medali emas PON XX Papua 2021, Ayat Supriatna (Jawa Barat) masih terkunci diperingkat 5.
